Statistics is the science of gathering, organizing and drawing conclusions from data. So, our goal in this course will be to learn : how to get data, how to organize the data, and how to draw conclusions from the data.

Prerequisite: MAT 1033 or equivalent.

Grading:

There will be 5 tests and a Final Exam. Each test is worth 100 points each. Please be advised that there are NO MAKE-UPS except in cases of extreme (and documented) emergency (e.g. serious medical condition, required hospitalization, death within the immediate family, and so forth). At my discretion, the final grade is calculated this way:

                   
  FINAL GRADE = 60% (TESTS AVERAGE) + 40% (FINAL EXAM)

Calculator:
A scientific or graphing calculator (preferably TI-83, TI-84)   is required for this course and   will be needed every day
